Established in 1992 by local guides, the Compagnie Des Guides Du Mercantour serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it represents Mercantour guides with various institutions, including the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, Mercantour National Park, FFCAM, FFME, SNGM, and mountain rescue services such as CRS, firefighters, and PGHM. Secondly, it fosters good relations among Mercantour guides.
The Compagnie Des Guides Du Mercantour does not have a commercial objective; it is the individual guides or those associated with a Guide Office who carry out commercial activities. The primary focus of the organization is to support the Mercantour guides in their professional endeavors, ensuring a strong network and representation with relevant institutions.
