About Marker
Marker International is a distinguished German manufacturing company specializing in winter sports equipment. Established in 1952 by Hannes Marker and headquartered in Straubing, Lower Bavaria, the company has been at the forefront of the industry, pioneering releasable binding technology for skiers. Marker’s early successes, such as the Duplex and Simplex toe binding models, established the brand as a key player in the winter sports market.
Throughout its history, Marker has continuously evolved, with new models introduced in the 1980s becoming major competitors on the alpine racing circuit. While initially an independent company, Marker has changed ownership several times, eventually becoming part of the K2 Sports group and subsequently being acquired by Jarden in 2007. Following Jarden’s merger with Newell Brands, equity firm Kohlberg & Co. purchased Marker and other winter brands in 2017.
Today, Marker offers a diverse range of products, including ski bindings, ski helmets, goggles, sportswear, and accessories, all designed with the brand’s longstanding commitment to innovation, quality, and performance.
