About Lapierre
Lapierre is a prestigious bicycle manufacturing company founded in 1946 by Gaston Lapierre in Dijon, France. Over the years, the brand has become renowned for its high-quality bicycles, which are ridden by elite French UCI WorldTeams Groupama–FDJ and FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope. Notably, their mountain bikes have been ridden by famed cyclist Nicolas Vouilloz, who has also played a significant role in the development of these bikes.
Under the leadership of Jacky Lapierre since 1960, the company has expanded its operations, building a new factory in 1972. Lapierre is now a part of the Accell Group, which first acquired a 33% stake in 1993 before purchasing the remaining shares in 1996.
In 2007, Lapierre began distributing its products in the United Kingdom and expanded into the Canadian market with the 2010 model year. Today, the brand manufactures over 90,000 bicycles annually across three locations in France, showcasing its enduring commitment to excellence and innovation in the cycling industry.
