General overview

The Mont-Blanc cycling tour is a reimagined route inspired by the Mont-Blanc Cyclo race. It’s a marathon bike race and a remarkable human adventure I’ve had the joy of participating in and winning.

This extreme endurance cycling event, lasting a day, features breathtaking routes. It covers 330 km with an elevation gain of 8,000 m and remains one of my fondest cycling memories.

I invite you to experience this unique four-day road cycling journey through Switzerland, Italy, and France. Immerse yourself in wild valleys, long crossings, historic cities, and legendary Alpine passes used in the Tour de France and Giro.

To enhance this extraordinary cycling trip, I offer accommodation in authentic, sometimes original establishments, complemented by menus featuring local artisanal products.

All these highlights are personally selected and tested, just like the cycling route, which has been completed several times over two years to precisely determine the stage lengths and provide impeccable service to every cyclist.

Itinerary

BEGINNING OF THE CYCLING ADVENTURE

Day 1: Martigny – Aosta 84 km / 2,600 m elevation gain

Welcomed in Martigny’s picturesque old town, we start with coffee and cycling tales. After bike preparations, we head to Champex, known as the “Little Canada” of Valais, for its wild beauty. The journey continues through Orsières to the Grand-St-Bernard Pass, a steep climb revealing breathtaking mountains. The descent to Aosta, marked by stone villages and slate roofs, concludes the longest day.

THE DOLCE VITA: NATURE, LEGENDARY PASSES, AND HISTORICAL HERITAGE

Day 2: Aoste – Bourg St Maurice 75 km / 1,700 m elevation gain

The day starts gently through the Val d’Aosta, known for medieval castles and high peaks. We then tackle the Petit Saint-Bernard Pass, a less steep but historic route frequented by Tour de France cyclists. Descending into the Haute-Tarentaise Valley, we cross back into France, ending in Bourg-St-Maurice with Savoyard fare.

DISCOVERING BEAUFORTAIN

Day 3: Bourg-St-Maurice – Megève 84 km / 2,500 m elevation gain

The serious climbing starts with the Cormet de Roselend, offering diverse alpine landscapes. We descend to the Roselend Dam, then climb the Col du Pré for stunning views. The journey through Arêche and Beaufort includes a cheese tasting before ascending the Col des Saisies. We end in Megève, a charming resort town.

SAVOUR THE FINAL ALPINE LEG

Day 4: Megève – Martigny 83 km / 1,600 m elevation gain

The last day brings us close to Mont-Blanc in Chamonix, ideal for a culinary break. We climb to Argentière and the Col des Montets, then descend into Switzerland. The final climb is to the Col de la Forclaz, before descending to Martigny, completing the journey with a sense of achievement and light hearts.
