General overview
Prepare to be captivated by the grandeur of Mera Peak, a towering giant standing at an impressive 6,476 meters amidst the majestic Himalayas. This peak offers breathtaking panoramas of five of the world’s 8,000-meter giants: Kangchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, and Cho Oyu.
Your journey begins with a jeep ride to Khari Khola, nestled in the heart of Solu Khumbu.
The trail ascends towards the Pongma La pass, where stunning vistas of the Khumbu region await. From the pass, delve into the enchanting Hinku Valley, where verdant rhododendron and pine forests intertwine with traditional Sherpa settlements and yak pastures. Reaching Khare, you find yourself at the foot of the Mera Glacier, ready to start your summit push.
After acclimatizing at Mera High Camp, you set off early in the morning to conquer Mera Peak. The ascent is rewarded with panoramic views that you will never forget. From the summit, gaze upon the peaks of Kangchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, and Cho Oyu – a sight that will leave you breathless.
Descend back to Khare and continue your trek to Zatrwa La pass. Here, you can look back at Mera Peak and say your last goodbyes to the mountain. After crossing the pass you arrive at Lukla, where a scenic flight awaits, carrying you back to Kathmandu, marking the end of your unforgettable Mera Peak expedition.
