General overview
Located in the Annapurna region of Nepal, the Mardi Himal trek offers a serene escape into the heart of the Himalayas. Unlike the more frequented trails of Poon Hill and Annapurna Base Camp, the Mardi Himal trek provides a tranquil experience with breathtaking mountain vistas.
The journey begins in Pokhara, where a private vehicle whisks you away to the trailhead. The initial ascent winds through lush oak and rhododendron forests, gradually revealing glimpses of the majestic Annapurna peaks.
As you progress towards Middle Camp, the trail ascends onto a ridge adorned with grasslands and scattered bushes. The panoramic views from this ridge are simply awe-inspiring.
High Camp marks a pivotal moment in the trek, bringing you into close proximity to renowned Annapurna peaks. Machapuchre, also known as Fishtail, and Annapurna South stand tall and proud, their snow-capped summits dominating the landscape.
After a refreshing night’s rest, embark on a four-hour ascent to a viewpoint further up Mardi Ridge. From this vantage point, you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramas of the Annapurna Base Camp and the surrounding mountain range.
Descend from the viewpoint and return to Middle Camp. From here, the Mardi Himal trail gently descends towards Lumre. A pleasant drive completes the journey, returning you to the city of Pokhara.
The Mardi Himal trek promises an unforgettable adventure, offering a harmonious blend of natural beauty, tranquillity, and cultural encounters.
